I am ready to take it to the next level on what I can deliver to my clients!
For this year my quilt is a log cabin quilt based on a Cozy Comfort pattern by Phyllis Paul of Cozy Quarters http://designsbycozyquarters.com It’s the second log pattern quilt design of theirs that I modified the borders on and I love their designs!
When you put quilts in a show you have to name them – for this quilt I had picked out fabrics during the 2013 VT Shop Hop and worked on piecing the quilt through the quilting retreats I did in 2013. The day I started quilting it I received a call with a job offer from Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (now known as Keurig Green Mountain) and in a flash the name came to me…. the colors of this quilt are the colors of the GMCR logo…. hence the name “Coffee in the Cabin”.
This is the first show quilt I have done using my new computerized system IntelliQuilter (IQ) and it is about 55% computerized and 45% custom free motion for the quilting.
Perfect start to my time here at MQX. I’ll be in back to back classes the rest of the week learning from the masters on how to best utilize my new Computerized Quilting system called IQ.

As a means of reaching out to more quilters I have launched a Facebook Page! ’Like’ me on Facebook to hear more about the quilting process and see more projects as they get quilted in my studio http://facebook.com/quiltvermont
I also wanted to utilize Pinterest as a means of showing additional photos of my work and also ‘Pinning’ some great tips to share.

It’s that time of year! SHOP HOP! I’ve participated every year in this event – many quilting stores across the state organize a ‘shop hop’ it’s a great chance (excuse) to go out with friends and support our ‘local’ quilt shops and build up our fabric ‘stashes’. I’ll be on the road at 7am heading south. Will share some pictures of my purchases! We’ll be hitting 12 shops over the next 2 days. To learn more about this tradition now in it’s 9th year use this link: http://www.vermontshophop.com/
This is the quilt:
The challenge was to use nine fabrics from the collection in the quilt. I used a combination of applique in the center and piecing around the perimeter of this medallion-style quilt. To see more of the entire collection chosen for the show follow this link: http://athm.org/exhibitions/past_exhibitions/fromthemills3.php
This quilt is hanging in my studio and I get to enjoy it every day! Many of my clients have heard the story behind this quilt.
Registration for classes has begun! It will certainly keep me hopping over the next several months as I am Registrar Chair for 2014-2016.
Here is the ad I have placed in the brochure as a means of growing my business:
